Our aim is to ensure that every linen item we carry in our linen bedding, bath linen, kitchen linen and linen clothing collections are simple, sustainable and stunning. We can offer you top quality, beautiful items that are designed to last and to enhance any interior. Whilst choosing natural fabrics for your home textiles and clothes is always the best option, linen is even better than other fabrics. Linen requires less water and fewer pesticides to grow than cotton. It is biodegradable, so after its long life it will gently decompose without leaving any waste. All parts of the flax plant can be used, meaning there are no harmful bi-products as a result of our processing and manufacturing procedures.
One of the world’s oldest and beloved fabrics, linen can be produced using both time-honoured ancient techniques and modern methods. At LinenMe we use a combination of cutting edge technologies and traditional hand looms to create our linen textiles. And as a third generation business we really understand how to get the best from linen. Part of this expertise comes from understanding how linen is produced. We have explained here how flax is grown, and what makes it a sustainable option for textiles. Today we want to talk about part of the production process called ‘dew retting’, and how it helps reduce our carbon footprint.
Stay at home, stick to physical distancing rules, wash your hands often, wear face mask, take care of your closest ones and your communities. If you decide to order smth from LinenMe during these stormy times we will add to your order our linen face mask FREE of charge (we are not selling them and they are not available on our online shop). Be aware they don't replace the medical masks, but as we've been advised by the experts they are definitely better than nothing in protecting others ( especially if you have a cough or sneeze). They are reusable if you wash them at 90 degrees and iron.
Stay optimistic. All storms are over one day and the sun will shine!
